FAUX FRECKLES, THE STRANGE NEW TREND

The faux freckles trend has been going on for a while especially in the YouTube community but now the trend has been all over Instagram and everywhere else. 

The no makeup, makeup look, is the look that usually goes with this trend because it isn’t possible to see freckles through heavy makeup. So minimal light weight make up is a must if you want to pull off this look and still look natural.

Chantel Jeffries (pictured above), most famously known for her relationship with Justin Bieber as well as her large Instagram following, has mastered the art of faux freckles. 

She actually has real freckles but doesn’t like how they get covered by her makeup so she creates faux freckles to bring them out. In an interview with allure she said “I feel like when you do faux freckles, it gives you a more natural look. Even when you’re wearing makeup, it looks like you’re wearing less.

There are actually tons of videos on YouTube that teach you how to do these faux freckles yourself.

 Youtubers like Symphani Soto and Jasmeannnn have thousands of likes from these tutorials. 

I definitely think this trend is a little weird because I have natural freckles that are pretty dark and show even through my makeup. Also both my parents also have freckles so I’m used to seeing real ones.

I actually hated my freckles when I was younger but now I have embraced them and love them.

I honestly don’t find faux freckles offensive because people are doing them in a positive way and it’s just makeup, it’s not that serious!
